The purpose of the fund is to provide a scholarship award for undergraduate students from the following counties: Miami-Dade, Broward, Monroe & Palm Beach. The award will be presented annually to an (or more than one based on funds available) incoming freshman. The scholarship recipient will be selected by the Office of Student Financial Aid ( OSFA ) and the fund shall be administered by OSFA. Should there not be an eligible first-year student in any given year, the award may be granted to an upperclassman from the aforementioned counties, including prior recipients. Should there be no eligible students in an academic year, the award may be given to any undergraduate student from the state of Florida.
The award will be ceremoniously presented to the recipient(s) by the South Florida Terp Alumni Network at an annual event, and members of the Network shall assist in recruiting applicants and encouraging local students to apply for the scholarship through OSFA.
